Grammar Basketball Academy

 

Coach Justine Colley-Leger '09, Athletics Director at Halifax Grammar School, invites student-athletes to join her on the court and in the classroom to enhance fundamentals and increase their basketball IQ. In a fun, positive, yet competitive environment, student-athletes will learn skills to prepare them for competing at the next level.

Halifax Grammar is offering four week-long basketball camps for elite student-athletes grades 7-12 (student-athletes must have completed their Grade 7 academic year). Coach asks that all student-athletes have competed in Division 1 or Division 2 High School, Junior High or Club basketball this past season. If you are interested in competing in the NCAA, USports, or professionally, then this is the camp for you!

Girl's Camp: July 8 - 12
Boy's Camp: July 15 - 19
Girl's Camp: July 22 - 26
Boy's Camp: July 29 - Aug 2

** Camps are not consecutive. Student-athletes may register for one week only.
Registration closes on June 1, 2024. A waitlist is available.

  • Class Size

    Each week of camp is limited to 40 student-athletes to ensure personal attention.
  • What to Bring

    Student-athletes are asked to bring the following items to camp:

    • a lunch and snacks;
    • a non-breakable water bottle;
    • indoor sneakers;
    • a basketball (labelled);
    • a notebook with pen/pencil;
    • a skipping rope; and
    • a tennis ball.
    Each student-athlete is asked to wear appropriate gym clothes. Registration includes a reversible jersey.

    • Cancellation / Refund Policy

      Refunds will be considered on a case-by-case basis and are subject to a $25 administrative fee. You may withdraw from the camp up to seven (7) days prior to the camp start date. If a cancellation is requested within seven (7) days of the camp starting, please contact Coach Colley-Leger.

    Meet Your Coach

    Coach Justine Colley-Leger '09, Director of Athletics at Halifax Grammar School, is a proud Grammar alum who, after winning a provincial championship with Grammar, went on to play for the Saint Mary's Huskies and Team Canada. During her five years at SMU, she earned many awards and broke several records including the Most Points Scored (2,376 points) in Canadian University Women's Basketball. In 2019, Coach Colley-Leger was the youngest person to be inducted into the Nova Scotia Sports Hall of Fame.
